How to Choose

Stainless Steel

Choosing the right sinks starts with understanding the difference in steel. Higher quality sinks are made with 304 18 gauge 18/10 stainless steel. In metals, the lower the gauge number the thicker and more durable the steel. The 18/10 number is the chrome/nickel content of the steel. This is very important to the luster and corrosion resistance of the steel. The highest quality sinks are manufactured with 304 16 gauge 18/10 steel. Many manufacturers use lesser quality 18/8 steel at a reduced cost, but these sinks will not maintain their luster as well as 18/10 sinks will.

304 vs. 202 Stainless Steel

If the price of a competitor’s product seems too low, it may be manufactured using 202 stainless. When the sink is new, it is hard to tell the difference between 304 and 202 steel. But, after the sink has been used even for a few weeks, 202 will lose its luster.

For years, thicker 16 gauge sinks were only available for commercial applications. Eclipse Stainless offers a full line of 16 gauge undermount sinks for the home. Replacing an inferior quality undermount sink can be a difficult and expensive job because the holes are cutom cut for each individual sink. That’s why purchasing a Eclipse premium sink is a very smart decision.

Certified Manufacturing

Eclipse is a certified manufacturer, and we control every step of our production process. By purchasing an Eclipse, you can be assured that you are purchasing a quality product that was manufactured to the highest standards in the industry. Eclipse sinks are SGS compliant and CSA certified and Eclipse faucets are IAPMO Certified for UPC, C-UPC, NSF-61, AMSE.

Style

Choosing the size and shape of your new sink is a personal decision based upon style and functionality. Make sure that your sink base will accommodate your selection. For kitchen sinks, many customers prefer the large/small bowl configuration to accommodate larger items that do not fit in a dishwasher. Bottom grates help to protect your sink during everyday use. Always follow the care and maintenance provided with your sink to insure years of beauty and functionality.
